Name That Greek Mathematician

I love some good hard work. My good friend Michael called me last week and asked me if I might help him on a job he was going to be doing in his back yard. He is going to be building a workshop for himself. He has started by digging what is called a footer, like the foot of a building. Now, he and I are working to build forms, like a mold, so that we can pour the concrete walls. Those of you who were in Further with Numbers had better know the name of that mathematician...

  2. You are correct sir, but do you remember the formula that will allow you to make me a box that holds a specified volume? Also, you didn't say anything about my safety goggles.
