Once again I got up early this morning and traveled out to Harris Lake. They have a great disc golf course out there and they also have this beautiful little ecosystem. I hoped to grab some cool photographs as the sun rose. Here are a few:

Independence Day
Happy Fourth of July! I hope that everyone has had their fill of hot dogs and hamburgers, and has stayed safe from the dangers of pyrotechnics. It has been a little while, but I have been taking it easy... The question below, however, is not easy. Good luck.

Great Smoky Mountains National Park
As you will probably be able to tell from the video, we got up this morning at 5:00am. It was amazing to be in the park early as the sun rose over the mountains. When I was a child my first experience in the mountains was in the Smokies, and I can honestly say that those mountains are what drew me back to the great state of North Carolina.

Nature's Little Potter
Some might have swatted the air, attempting to get rid of the pest. We just happened to notice that the little wasps, there were two, were coming and going to the same place. It was really very interesting to watch. They scouted around the same place for a specific kind of clay, rolled their ball, and took off.

Name That Greek Mathematician
I love some good hard work. My good friend Michael called me last week and asked me if I might help him on a job he was going to be doing in his back yard. He is going to be building a workshop for himself. He has started by digging what is called a footer, like the foot of a building. Now, he and I are working to build forms, like a mold, so that we can pour the concrete walls. Those of you who were in Further with Numbers had better know the name of that mathematician...

Today I had a lot of fun visiting with an old friend. We spent our afternoon interacting with the object below. Now... can you tell me what it is?
